Adrian Dharma Kusuma Achieves Excellence as the Best Overall Champion in the Hiroshima Essay Competition.
Participating in the National Japanese Essay Competition organized by Hiroshima University was a deeply memorable experience for me. Initially, I had no strong foundation in essay writing, especially in Japanese. However, I wanted to challenge myself by trying something new. This desire motivated me to independently learn essay writing techniques in Japanese.
The first step I took was conducting research through various online sources. I studied the structure of essays, read different examples of works, and tried to understand the thinking patterns used in academic Japanese writing. Afterward, I began drafting the basic outline, developing the content, and outside of the university, which was incredibly helpful in improving and enriching my essay.
After passing the essay selection and advancing to the interview stage, I faced new challenge. I trained intensively, practicing every day to ensure I could express my thoughts clearly and confidently. Thanks to thorough preparation and support from various people, I was able to achieve the Best Overall Champion title in the Hiroshima University National Japanese Essay Competition.
Previously, I had also participated in the National Japanese Speech Contest, which provided me with a wealth of experience in delivering ideas orally. This second competition presented different challenges, but both competitions were crucial parts of my journey in mastering the Japanese language.
This achievement is not only about the final result but also about the long journey filled with learning, hard work, and perseverance. I am truly grateful for this experience and hope to continue developing myself and contribute more in this field in the future.
