High Enthusiasm, Japanese Literature Study Program Faculty of Humanities Udayana University Holds Japanese Language Proficiency Test in Early December 2024

The Japanese Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities Udayana University (FIB Unud) in collaboration with the Japan Foundation Jakarta successfully attracted the enthusiasm of 850 applicants for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) which took place on Sunday, (01/12/2024) at the Faculty of Humanities Udayana University, Pulau Nias Street No.13


The Chair of the activity committee who is also a lecturer in the Japanese Literature Study Program FIB Unud, Ni Putu Candra Lestari, explained that the JLPT Test or also known as the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is a prestigious test and is carried out directly by the Japanese Government's Institute for Language Development and Cultural Exchange which aims to test Japanese language skills by foreign speakers. The results of this test are usually one of the requirements for non-Japanese citizens to apply for jobs or continue their studies in Japan. 


The Chair of the Activities Committee further explained that the exam this time being held at FIB Unud was a simultaneous exam throughout Indonesia which was a collaboration between the Japan Foundation Jakarta and FIB Unud involving Japanese Language Teachers throughout Bali and the Bali-Japan Foundation. 


Ni Putu Candra Lestari also emphasized that this test is open to the general public and starting in 2025 the JLPT will be carried out twice a year, namely in July and December. 


"Actually, holding JLPT in Bali is a strategic need and every year it always gets high enthusiasm among the public and Japanese language learners," said Ni Putu Candra Lestari.
