Japanese Literature Udayana University Introduces Japanese Language and Culture at SDK Santa Maria Ratu Rosari Gianyar
Enhancing Students' Global Insights, Japanese Literature Study Program of Udayana University Holds International Community Service at SDK Santa Maria Ratu Rosari Gianyar
The Japanese Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Udayana University successfully conducted an International Community Service activity on Friday, October 2, 2026. This activity was held at SDK Santa Maria Ratu Rosari, Gianyar, with a focus on introducing Japanese language and culture to the students. A total of 8 Udayana University lecturers, 6 Udayana University students, and 1 student from Kwansei Gakuin University went directly to the field to share knowledge and cultural experiences. In its implementation, the service team presented educational and interactive materials, starting from introducing basic Japanese greetings (aisatsu) for morning, afternoon, and night, to expressions used before (itadakimasu) and after meals (gochisosamadeshita). In addition, students were also introduced to omamori or traditional Japanese good luck charms.
Throughout the activity, the students of SDK Santa Maria Ratu Rosari Gianyar showed very high enthusiasm. They actively imitated Japanese pronunciations, enthusiastically practiced Japanese greetings, and joyfully made omamori directly.SDK Santa Maria Ratu Rosari Gianyar warmly welcomed and highly appreciated the implementation of this community service. The school assessed that this activity provided useful new insights for students, while hoping that such educational cooperation can continue in the future.
For the students involved, this agenda became a very memorable and valuable field experience. In addition to being a medium for sharing university knowledge, this activity became a real learning space for students to hone public speaking skills and communicate with children. Their cheerfulness and curiosity became a distinct motivation for the student team to continue actively contributing to community education activities in the future.
