MBKM Internship Program Report at the Badung Regency Department of Culture

On Monday, September 8 to December 30, 2025, I, Clara Dinda Patrisia Raga (Student ID: 2201581012), class of 2022, participated in the MBKM Internship Program held at the Badung Regency Department of Culture, Bali. This program was carried out with the aim of enabling students not only to learn within the university environment but also to gain real work experience outside the campus, particularly within government institutions.

The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Internship Program, commonly known as the MBKM Internship, is an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of Indonesia. The program is supported by Udayana University in collaboration with several institutions across Bali, one of which is the Badung Regency Department of Culture.

This internship program provided meaningful benefits and a significant impact on me, especially as I am considering a career as a civil servant (PNS/ASN) in the future. Working at the Badung Regency Department of Culture gave me the opportunity to be directly involved in supporting the people of Bali in preserving the island’s cultural and artistic heritage. Additionally, this experience helped me adapt and collaborate with individuals who are more experienced and accustomed to working in the governmental sector.

During the internship, I was assigned to assist staff in the Arts Division, particularly in helping Balinese sekaa groups and art studios (sanggar) obtain the 2025 Grant Assistance aimed at developing and preserving Bali’s cultural heritage. I was taught directly how to assist the heads of sekaa groups and sanggar who wished to register their organizations for grant funding, input their data into the Sidalok system, explain the procedures for preparing grant proposals, outline the required documents for grant submission, and verify the submitted requirements and proposals before they were forwarded to the Regent for approval.
