Hi Everyone, I am Martyn Christian Redondo Gultom, a third-year student majoring in Japanese Literature at Udayana University. I would like to share an intriguing story about my extraordinary experience participating in the Independent Study Program within the framework of the Campus Merdeka initiative. It all began during my fourth semester when I started feeling a sense of curiosity to explore the field of technology, which I had never delved into before. This marked the moment when I discovered the Independent Study Program offered by MSIB.
Despite my educational background in literature, the desire to understand and engage in the world of technology sparked significant interest within me. Eventually, I made the decision to enroll in the RevoU Tech Academy – Data & Software Engineering, a choice that initially left me hesitant but was driven by the belief that current technological advancements could open doors to intriguing career opportunities. After navigating through the application and selection process, joy filled me as I received the acceptance email the following day. This marked the beginning of my fascinating journey at RevoU Tech Academy.
The Independent Study Program presented two key modules, namely Software Engineering and Data Analytics, enabling me to gain a profound understanding in both areas. The program's structure, divided into four parts – Orientation Week, Software Engineering, Career Development, and Data Analyst – provided a solid foundation for the development of both technical skills and soft skills. I deeply appreciate the diverse learning materials and well-organized structure. The Notion platform served as a repository for references from various sources, creating a learning environment enriched with real-world experiences. Instructors with professional backgrounds further enriched the learning process by providing insights relevant to the working world.
The mentoring activities within the program were conducted effectively, offering maximum support in my learning process. This program not only imparted a deep understanding of web development and coding but also assisted me in prioritizing current business challenges. With a focus on developing soft skills and adaptability, the program provided detailed insights into data processing using SQL and Python, as well as data visualization skills crucial in various contexts.
With comprehensive learning achievements, I envision that this experience will serve as valuable preparation for my personal development. I am optimistic that the knowledge and technical skills acquired from the Independent Study Program at RevoU Tech Academy will pave the way for a promising career in the dynamic world of employment. Hopefully, with the skills acquired, I can continue to evolve and make positive contributions in the future.
