Getting to Know Indonesia Through MBKM: Notes from Aji

I am Aji Satrio Pamungkas. Usually called Aji. I am a student of the Japanese Literature study program at Udayana University who was given an extraordinary experience this time, feeling the excitement of the Merdeka Campus program, namely the Independent Domestic Student Exchange. During this exchange program, I studied at Al-Azhar University, Indonesia. I feel lucky because the MBKM committee has placed me in this university. At first, I could never even imagine what it would be like to study at another university other than Udayana University.

The reason I was interested in joining a student exchange program was because I 'liked to experiment'. I have experimented with almost everything in the world, from how it feels to eat chicken porridge if you don't stir it first to what happens when you take a siomay but using a fork that the center doesn't cutted, haha. Of all the experiments I've tried, the student exchange program was the most fun. Because, by joining this program, I can study at a new campus, be taught courses with new lecturers, talk and send messages with new friends, and maybe find new love. The fact that this activity can't be run offline makes me a bit sad. But thankfully I can still feel the meaning and good impact of this one program.

One more thing that is special about this student exchange program is the Nusantara Module program. In my opinion, this program is very important to increase insight and knowledge about the Indonesian nation, starting from the history of the Indonesian nation, historical relics, cultures in the country, and so on. Thanks to the Nusantara module program, I am even more proud to be an Indonesian citizen. In addition, this program teaches students to love Indonesian culture more, appreciate the services of the heroes who have died on the battlefield, and there are many other benefits that I have received from this program.

I am happy to be able to participate in the Nusantara Module program, because during this activity, I can meet and directly ask great sources, discuss with friends, and express opinions about what I have learned in these activities. In my opinion, the Nusantara Module program is a program that must be held every year because this program is very useful and can foster enthusiasm and a sense of love for the homeland. The material and topics discussed are very interesting and not boring so I feel happy and make students more curious about things that are not yet known about the beauty of this country.

That's enough experience that I can share, I hope it can attract other students to join the MBKM program and build a brighter future for Indonesia. Before ending this article, I would like to convey a pantun as a sweetener.

Satu bulan telah berpuasa (One month has fasted)
Jangan lupa rayakan idul fitri (Don't forget to celebrate Eid ul Fitr)
Generasi muda penerus bangsa (The next generation of the nation's youth)
Bersatu padu membangun negeri (Unite to build the country)
