Independent MBKM Program Faculty of Cultural Knowledge: Internship Activities at the Public Broadcasting Organization of Radio Republic Indonesia (LPP RRI) Denpasar
Hello. I’m Trisna Rahma Ismawati, a fourth year student from Japanese literature in Udayana University. As a final year student who will soon finish her studies, I try to take advantage of several learning programs offered by Udayana University where i can learn outside the Japanese literature, such as taking an internship program at the Public Broadcasting Organization Of Radio Republic Indonesia (LPP RRI) Denpasar.
LPP RRI is a broadcasting institution that provides information services on education, healthy entertainment, social control and social bonding, and preserves the nation's culture for the people of Indonesia through radio broadcasting activities that are routinely carried out every time. In LPP RRI Denpasar there are several division, however I was placed in two division which is the planning division and broadcasting division. The planning division is a team that are in charge of preparing and ensuring that several things in broadcasting and events will take place properly. Whereas broadcasting division is a team that conducts live broadcasts according to predetermined broadcast topics.
In the division of planning, I have learned about script writing which includes filler scripts, disaster response scripts, and Indonesian gait scripts. The scripts that have been written are then recorded and prepared to be broadcast on RRI Denpasar. In addition, I also completed some of the needed archives, especially the archive of the list of programs broadcast by LPP RRI Denpasar.
In the field of broadcasting, they are grouped into three teams according to the topics that are often discussed during broadcasts, such as :
Broadcasting team of Program 1 – Information And Inspiration Channel. This division provides broadcasts and content specialized in information and education for the public. While in this broadcasting area, I was a guest speaker at the "Lunch Dialog" session by discussing the topics "Young Generation's Perspective on Traffic Jam in Bali" and "World of Beauty". In addition, I am also a content creator on instagram and tiktok as soon as operator when live streaming on youtube.
Broadcasting team of Program 2 – Your Best Mate. This team is a non-formal broadcast team that provides some discussion of current topics in Indonesia to attract young Indonesians. During my time on this team, I have done morning broadcasts with several broadcasters where we discussed some current topics. I also became a content creator on Programa's 2 instagram.
The last is the broadcasting team of Program 4 – The Voice of Culture. This is a broadcast team devoted to discuss Balinese cultural topics. During my time on this team, I became a content creator on social media Programa's 4 LPP RRI Denpasar.
Participating in LPP RRI Denpasar Internship provide many benefits for students, both in terms of non-material and material. The non-material benefits that I have gained are knowledge related to the world of work in the world of broadcasting and develop my relation with fellow students and workers in the office. Of course this is very useful for a student, right?
And the material benefits are producing several broadcast products through scripts that I have written and some social media content that I have created.
The decision to take part in the MBKM program provided by the campus is a very beneficial thing for students. I hope that Udayana University students can make good use of various learning programs at Udayana University, of course in their implementation it is done responsibly.
