Independent Study as SEO Specialist in PT Jobhun Membangun Indonesia

Hello! I am Kadek Dian Ariyanti, a fourth semester student at Udayana University. My current major is Japanese Literature. Living by studying Japanese culture and language, at the end of semester 4 I thought about trying something new; yep, participating in the government program, namely Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM).

MBKM has many options that we can try. In this case, I decided to take an Independent Study. I registered as an SEO Specialist participant at PT Jobhun Pembangunan Indonesia. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) is simply a series of activities to optimize a website with the aim of getting more organic traffic. The better the organic traffic of a website, the website ranking on search engine pages will increase.

At first it felt difficult, because I was learning new things that I thought were far from my current college major. However, PT Jobhun Pembangunan Indonesia makes the learning sessions very interactive and fun.

Each class has a total of eight learning modules. One module is discussed for two weeks, each week there are three synchronous meetings. In the second week, a mentoring session was held with the mentors of each group and at the end of the weekend participants were required to take a module understanding test.

As a final assignment, each group is required to complete a final assignment called a Capstone Project. This final assignment assessment is carried out through a mini-pitching activity, namely the presentation of the results of the final assignment in front of a panel of professional judges according to their field. Thankfully, thanks to solid study perseverance, my group succeeded in achieving the title of Best Capstone Project SEO Specialist.

I received many benefits while participating in this program. The main thing is of course to gain SEO knowledge which I am sure will be useful in the future, considering that the digital era is currently developing so rapidly. Second, gain relationships between students throughout Indonesia. Third, increase self-confidence because during learning, participants are required to be interactive and express opinions.

This experience was very useful and I will always remember it. The MBKM program is very good to continue in the future. I highly recommend this MBKM program for future Japanese Literature students.
