Innovative AI Project through MBKM Orbit Future Academy x Kampus Merdeka Program
My name is Egidia Zahra Vanessa Purba, I am a fourth-year student at Udayana University. In this semester, I registered for MBKM Orbit Future Academy x Kampus Merdeka activity with "Artificial Intelligence 4 Jobs" as the main theme. This program provides opportunities for students to learn and develop skills in the field of technology, especially Artificial Intelligence, as a preparation for entering the world of work. The learning process is carried out online using Zoom meetings. The moment when I knew that I passed and got the opportunity to learn new things, I was very happy.
On the first day I was invited to a class WhatsApp group called WALUKU, which was inspired by the name of a star in the solar system. During the learning process, I had a mentor named coach Yesa. During MBKM I learned about the logic and concepts of AI, such as history, technological developments, and understanding of artificial Intelligence. I also learned about the basic principles of AI and an introduction to existing methods in the AI domain. I had difficulty understanding the material, but thanks to coach Yesa, who always helped me understand the learning material, I was given access to create an LMS (Learning Management System) account, it is similar to Udayana University's OASE. I can access learning materials and videos by the LMS website. I also have to do quizzes regarding the material I have just learned. Every Monday, I took part in a learning class that will be guided by coach Yesa. One thing that I like the most during class is when the coach holds mini games with exciting prizes, such as GoPay or Dana balances.
At week 16, Coach Yesa announced that we would make a final project on AI, using the methods that had been studied as one of the requirements for graduating from the MBKM program. This final project will be done in groups. I am very happy when I can make new friends who come from different provinces and universities. We discussed the project that we were going to create, almost everyday. We created a website, namely CADS, which can detect arrhythmias on ECG diagrams. To be honest, it was my first AI project, so it felt like a dream.
I am very happy and proud of my team because we were able to complete the final project on time. I felt sad when I took my last class and attended our graduation ceremony, but I am grateful to be able to take part in the MBKM program. I learned a lot from this program. Therefore, I highly recommend that other students should try this MBKM program, so they can learn new things that will be very useful in the future.
