Japanese Department at the Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Budaya

After passing various competitions which were participated by FIB students, the Pekan Olahraga Mahasiswa was officially closed on Wednesday (15/16). This year POM FIB held a competition which consisted of table tennis, chess, Mobile Legends, PUBG, solo vocals, group vocals, and futsal.

As a routine activity, every year students of the Japanese Department send representatives for all sports. This year's representatives include Aruna, Tegar, Hafidz, Yohanes, Alice, and Toki as Mobile Legends athletes; Aruna, Aryo, Yogi, Toki, and Refy as PUBG athletes; Stephen, Aji, and Romio as table tennis athletes; Nakitakaduwa as a chess athlete; Hafidz, Nakitakaduwa, Kesawa, Ditya, Deva, Pathan, Sena, and Tegar as futsal athletes; Yohana as a solo vocalist; Sandya, Dita, Erna, and Ira as the group's singers; and Tina and Martyn as representatives for the election of Jegeg Bagus.

Athletes prepare themselves with various trainings starting in early May. Ragil as the person in charge who accompanied the athletes explained his opinion on the training process that was carried out for one month, "From myself, POM athletes' training was still not effective because some athletes still didn't really master the sport they were holding, but with the training they did , slowly the athletes can follow the training session well,” he said.

For the hard work of the athletes, the Japanese Departement managed to become the 3rd overall winner with 8 points, consisting of the Excellent FIB Champion, 1st Runner Up Jegeg FIB, 2nd Place in Mobile Legend Competition, and 3rd Place in the Vocal Group Competition. “I myself am quite satisfied with the results that can be achieved by the athletes even though they have not met the target. My message to the person in charge and POM athletes in the future is that I hope they can meet their targets and be able to make the Japanese Literature Study Program proud again.” said Ragil.
