MBKM: Independent Internship for LPP Radio Republik Indonesia Denpasar
My name is Ni Kadek Tina Widi Suciati, and I am a fifth-semester Japanese Literature student. Currently, I am enrolled in the Independent Internship Program initiative at LPP RRI Denpasar. I obtained information about the independent internship registration through my university and became interested in applying. After waiting for a few weeks, I received acceptance and promptly proceeded with the re-registration. Independent Internship Program is a form of support under the Campus Merdeka policy, encouraging higher education institutions to independently implement the MBKM program. The objective of Independent Campus Merdeka Program is to assist as many students as possible in gaining experiences outside the campus to prepare for their future careers. My internship takes place at LPP RRI Denpasar, located on Jalan Hayam Wuruk No 70, Sumerta Kelod, East Denpasar.
Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) was established on September 11, 1945 and is commemorated annually as Indonesian Radio Day. RRI plays a crucial role in providing radio broadcast services for the Indonesian community. It serves to deliver information, education, and wholesome entertainment, acting as a social cohesive force. Additionally, RRI preserves the cultural heritage of the nation for the benefit of all layers of society through radio broadcasting that spans the entire territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
Therefore, Radio Republik Indonesia in the Denpasar region organizes broadcasts with four channels or programs, namely Programma 1 (PRO 1) as the Central Empowerment Program for the Indonesian Community and the Inspiration Channel serving various segments of society in rural, urban, mountainous, and industrial areas. Programma 2 (PRO 2) serves as the Central Program for Youth Creativity, broadcasting entertainment for the younger generation. This channel typically airs information about youth, lifestyle, and the latest music. Programma 3 (PRO 3) is a broadcast from Jakarta, serving as the National News Network (Voice of Indonesian Identity) providing news and information on a news channel. Specifically, PRO 3 RRI Denpasar only relays broadcasts from the central RRI station in Jakarta. Programma 4 (PRO 4) functions as the Central Indonesian Cultural Program spread across cultural potential regions. All broadcasts can be heard through conventional radio or the RRI Play Go application.
The purpose of my participation in the Independent Internship Program at LPP RRI Denpasar is to directly immerse myself in the working world and experience the field of radio broadcasting and production firsthand. During the four-month internship at LPP RRI Denpasar, I gained many new skills, such as scriptwriting for fillers, recording filler scripts, tandem broadcasting, on-air radio presentations, recording Public Service Announcement advertisements, and creating creative content on social media. The internship at LPP RRI Denpasar has provided numerous benefits, including enhancing my ability to speak in public and communicate through voice media. It also helped sharpen my scriptwriting and narrative skills specifically for radio.
The experience in the Independent Internship Program at LPP RRI Denpasar has been immensely valuable for me. I gained a wealth of knowledge about radio broadcasting, and additionally, I learned how to become a content creator. I am grateful to have completed this Independent Internship Program, acquiring skills that will be beneficial in the future. I hope to share my experiences with my friends. Therefore, I strongly encourage Japanese Literature students to participate in this program.
