MBKM : Internship as a Japanese language tutor

My name is Ni Putu Ary Evania, a third-year student at Udayana University majoring in Japanese Literature. I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus (MBKM) Program. This program not only provides the chance to earn additional academic credits but also serves as a transformative experience, changing my perspective on acquiring knowledge and skills beyond the main curriculum. In the current semester, I am engaging in an internship at Educourse.id, a company based in South Tangerang specializing in education and technology.

During my internship as a Japanese language tutor, I have gained numerous new experiences. Beyond teaching, I am responsible for monitoring students' progress, managing their grades, and developing learning modules from beginner to N5 levels used by the students. Additionally, I am involved in creating quizzes and worksheets for each session. I also undertake various tasks assigned by the CEO, such as translating documents from Japanese to Indonesian, serving as an MC for socialization events, and participating in work meetings with Japanese counterparts.

There are many benefits I have acquired during my internship at this company. Besides gaining a sense of the certainty of the working world and expanding my professional network, I have also obtained new insights into the role of being an educator. Building good relationships with students and their parents, as well as developing extra patience while teaching young children, are among the valuable lessons I've learned.

The impression and message from this internship experience are that it provides valuable insights for students, and the brief messages acquired can shape one's career. Internships are a crucial opportunity for personal and professional growth.
