During the MBKM program at Matahari Duta Plaza, I have gained valuable experience that greatly
enriched my practical skills and knowledge in the world of work, especially in the retail sector.
The program not only gave me the opportunity to develop my technical competencies, but also
enhanced my interpersonal skills.
Description of Activities and Learning: As a Store Frontliner - Sales Associate (SA), my main
duties are to serve customers by providing product and promo information, assisting with the
purchasing process, and managing goods from expeditions. I am also involved in organizing the
display of goods according to promotional themes and ensuring stock availability during high-
season, such as Christmas and New Year. In addition, I assisted in the processing of monthly sales
data using Excel, as well as participating in the promotion of the new brand ZES and creating
content for social media. One of the things I enjoyed was working as a talent model for the ZES
brand promotion, which gave me a new experience in marketing.
Competencies Developed: During this program, I developed various competencies that were very
valuable. I gained better communication skills, especially in serving customers and providing the
information they need. In addition, I learned how to manage stock efficiently, organize displays
creatively, and process sales data digitally. The program also taught me to adapt to work pressure,
especially during high-season, and honed my managerial skills in managing inventory.
Program Experience and Benefits: During my internship, I felt that I was given many challenges
that I was able to overcome with the help of my mentor and guidance from my Practice Supervisor
(DPP). My mentor provided valuable insights into retail operations that helped me overcome
various difficulties and improve my skills. In addition, my interactions with customers improved
my confidence and communication skills. Activities such as Saturday Ceria, which required me to
work in teams to create creative performances, also greatly enriched my experience in working
together and innovating.
Impressions and Messages: Through this experience, I feel more prepared to face the world of
work, especially in the dynamic retail industry. The MBKM program gave me the opportunity to
learn many things, from stock management, customer service, to digital marketing. I am very
grateful to be able to do my internship at Matahari Duta Plaza Bali, because besides developing
my technical skills, I also learned a lot about professionalism and the importance of working with
a team. I hope this experience can be a valuable provision for my future career, especially in
managing retail operations and marketing.
Overall, the MBKM program was very beneficial and provided hands-on experience that I could
not get in a classroom. I highly recommend this program for friends who want to gain real work
experience and develop various professional skills in the real world.
