Nibuncare to Humanity: Crafting with Rumah Pelangi

The Japanese Literature Study Program Student Association held a Nibuncare to Humanity activity in celebration of National Children's Day at Rumah Pelangi. (23/7)

Rumah Pelangi is a place for children to develop themselves both academically and non-academicly. Children who follow Nibuncare To Humanity have an age range of 4-12 years. This activity is carried out by making handicrafts, namely Pencil Holders from used bottles, hemp rope, and beads.

In the process of making crafts, children are divided into several groups. Each group has a companion from the students who help and supervise the children in making the crafts. When finished, representatives from each group presented their work to their friends.

In addition, the Japanese Literature Student Association also made donations in the form of items needed for Rumah Pelangi and children's toys that can develop their abilities. These donations were obtained from fundraising at Japan Feast & Fair and Nibuncare Filmscreening.

Playing with children and teaching them how to make something is certainly not an easy thing. However, Johan as the companion for the Rumah Pelangi children helped the committee so that the children could participate in the series of events properly and in an orderly manner.

The event closed with the distribution of gifts of snacks and thanks from the children, the companions of Rumah Pelangi, as well as representatives from the committee. It is hoped that with this activity, Rumah Pelangi with the Japanese Literature Student Association can establish a good friendship so that in the next activity they can collaborate again to entertain and play with the children.
