PROGRAM MBKM WIRAUSAHA MERDEKA

My name is Ditya Heswara Dwi Putra Setyawan. I am a student at Udayana University. At the end of the fifth semester, I applied for The Wirausaha Merdeka Program (WMK) Batch 2 in 2023. This program is part of the Campus Freedom program initiated by the Ministry of Education, providing students with the opportunity to learn and develop into aspiring entrepreneurs through activities beyond regular classroom lectures. Through this program, I have the chance to expand my knowledge in entrepreneurship, honing entrepreneurial skills, and enhancing the employability of students.

The Wirausaha Merdeka Program Batch 2 in 2023 is divided into three stages: Pre-Immersion, Immersion, and Post-Immersion. In the Pre-Immersion stage, participants like myself are provided with online lectures on basic entrepreneurial skills and leadership. Here, we can improve our mindset and validate business ideas with the guidance of mentors, practitioners, and entrepreneurship professors. Moving on to the Immersion stage, participants get hands-on experience by interning with micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) collaborating with The Wirausaha Merdeka Program. During this stage, we are divided into groups and assigned to different internship locations. My group and I had the opportunity to intern at Kaori Group, spending 20 days witnessing the actual operation of a UMKM business. Throughout the internship, I met cooperative peers and gained valuable insights into marketing business products.

The final stage is Post-Immersion, where participants apply what they have learned and begin designing business ideas within their respective groups. The goal is for participants to launch their businesses according to their plans. Each group's products are then showcased and evaluated by a judging team at the Wirausaha Merdeka Program Expo and Investment Summit held at Udayana University's Sudirman Campus in Denpasar, Bali.

My impression of participating experience in The Wirausaha Merdeka Program is that the opportunities provided by this program have been instrumental in helping me initiate and cultivate the spirit, determination, and action required for entrepreneurship to contribute to Indonesia's economy. I am delighted to have participated in this program and gained numerous positive experiences.
