TEACHING CAMPUS OF GRADE 8 OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 7 PEGUYANGAN
From September to December, Ni Kadek Sakura Julia, a 5th semester Japanese literature student Teaching Campus is one of the Independent Learning Independent Campus programs designed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia with the aim of providing a teaching and learning experience. This program involves students to be directly involved in teaching and learning activities in educational units, especially those in disadvantaged, outermost, and remote areas (3T), in order to improve the quality of education in these areas. As a student, I feel that education has an important role in shaping superior human resources. Therefore, the Kampus Mengajar Batch 8 Program is an opportunity for me to contribute and have a direct impact on the world of education by providing direct experience in the field. I chose to join this program because I believe that education is not only about transferring knowledge, but also about the teaching and learning process that involves social, emotional, and practical aspects. Through this program, I hope to utilize the knowledge I have to help deal with several problems in learning in certain school units, especially in areas that still face various limitations in facilities and resources. This program is also a place to develop my skills in communicating, socializing, managing time well, and creating innovative solutions in learning, which of course will be very useful for my future career development. By participating in the Campus Teaching Program Batch 8, I also hope to be able to experience firsthand the challenges that occur in the real world of education. This experience will enrich my thinking about the importance
of collaboration between campuses and schools in achieving teaching and learning programs in educational units that are more evenly distributed throughout Indonesia. I am participating in this program to make a real contribution to the world of education and to develop myself professionally and personally. We have designed 20 work programs which of course contain literacy and numeracy learning programs and we have adjusted them to the teaching system that we think is appropriate according to the level. This program is very helpful in increasing the number of schools and students' abilities in practicing literacy and numeracy learning.
During my time as a teacher partner, I was sad to see that there were still students who could not read or write at all, in addition there were students who were already in the middle of class, namely class 3 or 4, still had difficulty reading and counting. I am very grateful to be able to help the students here to equalize education in one of the educational units in Indonesia. In addition to the literacy and numeracy programs, I also designed several programs such as anti-bullying socialization programs, 3 major sins, activities outside the classroom, film screenings, introduction to word and canva and P5 activities which of course are adjusted to the class level of the students. The Kampus Mengajar program has had a big impact on both me and the school environment. The positive impacts that I got during the program were the development of Soft Skills starting from improving communication skills, leadership, and teamwork, teaching experience that directly plunges into the world
of education and provides an opportunity to understand the world of education practically, and also social contributions in having a direct role in empowering the community. The impact on the School Environment in my opinion is improving the quality of learning. The presence of students here can help teachers in the teaching and learning process, especially in the 3T (Disadvantaged, Frontier, and Outermost) areas, new innovations in the world of education and student motivation in participating in learning and can equalize education figures in educational units.
