The Role of Students in Supporting Arts Administration through the MBKM Program at the Department of Culture of Badung Regency
My name is Ni Made Tika Chandra Dewi, a student of the Japanese Literature Study Program at Udayana University. As part of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Program, I participated in an independent internship at Dinas Kebudayaan Kabupaten Badung, specifically in the Bidang Kesenian. Through this program, I had the opportunity to experience directly how a government institution works, especially in supporting arts and cultural activities. Before starting the internship, I received guidance about the workplace regulations, workflow, and responsibilities that I would handle, which helped me prepare myself mentally and professionally.
During my internship, I was responsible for carrying out administrative support tasks in the Bidang Kesenian. I assisted at the administrative desk, received and responded to phone calls, and helped with correspondence processes, including collecting, delivering, and recording incoming and outgoing letters. I was also involved in documenting certificates and recording names related to grant programs in the arts sector. Although these tasks may seem simple, I personally realized that administrative work plays a crucial role in ensuring that arts programs run efficiently and in an organized manner.
What made this experience even more meaningful for me was the working environment. The staff members, especially the seniors in the Bidang Kesenian, were kind, patient, and supportive. I felt welcomed and encouraged to ask questions whenever I faced difficulties.
