Udayana University Japanese Literature Study Program Holds IPR Socialization and Training Webinar

On Saturday (18/12), the Japanese Literature Study Program at Udayana University held a webinar entitled “Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Socialization and Training” through the Webex application. This webinar features Krissantyo Adinda, ST, M.Si, LLM. from the Directorate General of Intellectual Property as resource persons and Ni Putu Candra Lestari, SS, M.Hum. as a moderator.

According to the Coordinator of the Japanese Literature Study Program, Ngurah Indra Pradhana, SS, M.Hum., the purpose of holding this event is “to answer our internal confusion regarding the terms IPR, Copyright, Patent, Simple Patent, etc. Especially for the humanities field, which one is more likely to be registered. Then, what kind of products can we list. Is it just a scientific article or what? We also ask for procedures to register the IPR.”

This interactive event lasted for 3 hours with various questions from participants, answered in a concise and clear manner by the resource person who also served as an enlightener for lecturers and students who have an interest in registering intellectual property such as scientific articles, performing arts, visual arts/installations, and written works.

Intellectual property itself is important to register so that works can be protected under the law, have value, create income, attract investors, and encourage research and technological progress. Therefore, it is hoped that the interest and knowledge of the academic community to register IP will increase after participating in this webinar. (nr)
