Welcome New Students! Japanese Literature Program Holds Benkyoukai 2023
In welcoming new students, the Japanese Literature Program organized the Benkyoukai 2023 event. The activities commenced with a Pre-test on August 22, 2023, aimed at assigning classes for the incoming students. The event then continued for three consecutive days from August 31, 2023, to September 2, 2023.
On the first day of Benkyoukai 2023, new students were introduced to various aspects of campus life. The activities began with basic hiragana lessons, which serve as the foundation of the Japanese language. Additionally, they gained insights into the academic culture of Japanese Literature. Participants were also given assignments to write letters explaining how they embarked on their journey to Japanese Literature. After the lessons, students were tested on their knowledge and engaged in exciting games.
The second day focused on developing Japanese language skills by learning Katakana. Similar to the previous day, classes were infused with games and quizzes to assess their knowledge. On this day, new students also exchanged letters with their peers. The day concluded with an explanation of the upcoming final Benkyoukai activities.
The last day of Benkyoukai 2023 began with a fitness session, followed by various games and a "Monogatari" session. In the Monogatari session, new students were required to identify the senders of letters and take photos with them, creating an interactive experience. Subsequently, there were activities in the auditorium, including a welcome speech by the committee chair, an introduction to the Japanese Literature Program Student Association, a briefing on D'JaFU 12th, the selection of year-level coordinators, and an introduction to the organizing committee.
In her address, the Chairwoman of the Benkyoukai 2023 Committee, Ni Made Mariasih, stated, "I hope that this Benkyoukai event can boost the new students' enthusiasm for learning and motivation to navigate their future journey in Japanese Literature, utilizing all the opportunities available."
The Benkyoukai 2023 activities are expected to assist new students in starting their academic journey successfully and building strong relationships with their fellow students and the Japanese Literature Program. It is hoped that they will achieve outstanding achievements during their study at Udayana University. (ep)
