ANGELICA FINISHED THE INDEPENDENT ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM BATCH 2 OF UDAYANA UNIVERSITY
Let me introduce myself. I'm Angelica Ruth Yana Yawan, a sixth-semester student in the Japanese Literature Study Program at Udayana University. I'm participating in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka program, and I'd like to share my experiences. I began to understand business through the second batch of the Independent Entrepreneurship program at Udayana University. I joined this program because I wanted to gain a deeper understanding of the business world, and I'm confident this experience will be useful in the future. Independent Entrepreneurship Batch 2 is an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) and aims to provide students with opportunities to develop their entrepreneurial potential.
This program is categorized into three stages: Pre-immersion, Immersion, and Post-immersion. Each stage has program steps consisting of Input, Process, Output, and Outcome. In the pre-immersion phase, we began in mid-March 2025. Other students and I received entrepreneurship learning materials online, primarily on YouTube. This process provides fundamental knowledge and skills regarding entrepreneurship, so that students have a basic understanding and entrepreneurial mindset to be able to validate business ideas. The outcome of this stage is that students are able to understand Mindset, Entrepreneurial Observation, Entrepreneurship Knowledge, and Idea Creation. I not only received material online but I also studied with my group mates offline, where I and my fellow students were given assignments divided into two parts: tests and asynchronous classes. Next, in the Immersion stage, I and other students received onboarding mentorship at UKM. At this stage not only studied at UKM to deepen our understanding of entrepreneurship, but we also received guidance from Field Supervisors (DPL) regarding the business ideas we had developed. The materials we learned during this program included Transformational Leadership, Agile Ways of Working which taught about inspirational leadership and flexible work approaches, which are very necessary in the modern business world. We also had the opportunity to discuss with experienced mentors, who provided valuable insights on how to build a successful business. We started our internship at Cv Timan Agung, Tabanan on May 17, 2025, we received a lot of materials, in addition to practices provided directly by our mentors, in various interesting activities, we learned about good branding, attractive marketing techniques, and effective sales strategies. We were also introduced to the Business Modal Canvas (BMC) and effective pitching methods. All of this learning really helped me in designing business concepts, especially regarding the processing of moringa-based products that my group and I will develop. In the Post-immersion stage, we were also given materials related to Global Market-Oriented Digital Entrepreneurship, Building Social Entrepreneurs, and Design Thinking for Innovation. This material is very relevant in helping me understand how to utilize technology and create innovative solutions that have a positive impact on the environment. The expected outcome is for students to understand market validation, feasibility study, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and entrepreneurial attitude. During this phase, I also participated in a booth camp at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, on June 16, 2025, received product and business feasibility coaching, and participated in a demo day on July 24, 2025, at the Widya Sabha Auditorium, Jimbaran Campus. The second batch of the Independent Entrepreneurship Expo was the final activity of the program, where all groups introduced their products. My group was named MIDORIKKO. Midorikko is a food and beverage (F&B) business that produces moringa cookies, moringa chocolate, and moringa latte. Midorikko has started to create healthier snacks while still following current trends to ensure market acceptance.
Through this Independent Entrepreneurship MBKM program, I am very happy and feel better prepared to face the challenges of entrepreneurship. I am grateful for this opportunity and highly recommend this program to other students. This experience not only enriched my knowledge and skills but also opened up opportunities to network with various parties in the industry. I hope to continue developing my potential as an independent entrepreneur in the future.
