Udayana University Japanese Literature Student’s Experience in the MBKM Independent Entrepreneurship Program Batch 2

As a sixth-semester student of the Japanese Literature Study Program at Udayana University, I, Luh Nyoman Yoniasih, gained valuable experience through participation in the Independent Entrepreneurial Merdeka Learning Program (MBKM Wirausaha Merdeka Mandiri) Batch 2, organized by Udayana University under the initiative of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek). This program was specifically designed to develop entrepreneurial potential. The activities were divided into three stages: Pre-Immersion, which began in mid-March 2025, focused on building a foundation of entrepreneurial knowledge through online learning via YouTube and offline group discussions to explore entrepreneurial mindset, market observation techniques, and business idea validation.

The Immersion stage started on May 17, 2025, providing hands-on experience through an internship at CV Timan Agung, Tabanan, with intensive mentorship from business practitioners covering transformational leadership, agile working methods, branding techniques, modern marketing, Business Model Canvas (BMC) development, and pitching techniques—all of which were directly implemented in the development of real business products. The Post-Immersion stage marked the peak of the learning process, including a bootcamp held at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, on June 16, 2025, focusing on product refinement and business feasibility, followed by a demo day at the Widya Sabha Auditorium on July 24, 2025, where we showcased our MIDORIKKO business products an innovative F&B venture featuring signature items such as moringa cookies, moringa chocolate, and moringa latte, tailored to health trends and modern consumer preferences.

This program provided a wide range of benefits, such as a comprehensive understanding of the entrepreneurial world, the development of practical skills in business management and digital marketing, as well as building professional networks with mentors and academic supervisors. It also instilled the confidence to start a personal business while shaping an entrepreneurial mindset ready to face business challenges and create positive value for society. Through this transformative experience, my team and I at MIDORIKKO directly experienced the process of developing a product from scratch to successfully presenting it. I would like to encourage other students not to hesitate to step out of their comfort zones and take advantage of this golden opportunity as the best career investment—one that builds networks, courage to try, and real skills for future success as both entrepreneurs and professionals.
