Enriching Academic Experience Through the MBKM Program at UPTD. Taman Budaya Bali

As a student of the Japanese Literature Program at Udayana University, I had the opportunity to participate in the Independent Internship Program under the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) initiative at UPTD. Taman Budaya, Dinas Kebudayaan Provinsi Bali. This program, which took place from October 2024 to January 2025, provided an unforgettable experience connecting academic theory with practical application in the professional world. Located at the Bali Art Centre Building, UPTD. Taman Budaya serves as a hub for preserving arts and culture, challenging and enriching my knowledge.

The program offered numerous benefits, ranging from technical skill development to improved soft skills. On the technical side, I learned to document events, compile reports, and manage archives more systematically. Additionally, the program honed my communication skills, teamwork abilities, and adaptability in a professional environment. For me, the MBKM program was an ideal stepping stone to prepare for the challenges of the working world.

During the internship, I participated in several significant activities, including the Balinese Language Seminar, the “7 Panel Spectrum of Hope” Art Exhibition, the Pemuda Batak Bersatu (PBB) Anniversary Celebration, and the 2024 Year-End Celebration. At the Balinese Language Seminar held on October 8 and 18, 2024, I assisted the committee with registration, distributed goodie bags, and documented the event. This seminar was designed to enhance teachers' competencies in teaching the Balinese language to younger generations.

Another fascinating activity was the “7 Panel Spectrum of Hope” Art Exhibition, held from November 5 to 7, 2024, at the Kriya Building, UPTD. Taman Budaya. As part of the documentation team, I captured key moments from the opening to the closing ceremony, including ribbon-cutting and cultural performances. This exhibition showcased artworks by various local artists, providing an in-depth understanding of cultural event management.

At the Pemuda Batak Bersatu Anniversary Celebration on November 5, 2024, I was responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the event and documenting activities for the final report. This event was filled with a spirit of togetherness and showcased captivating Batak culture. Additionally, during the 2024 Year-End Celebration on December 27, I participated in organizing entertainment programs, documenting the gift exchange session, and capturing group photos. These activities not only strengthened relationships among staff but also fostered a sense of unity within the workplace.

My impression of this program is overwhelmingly positive. The MBKM program offered opportunities to explore my abilities, expand my network, and understand workplace dynamics. I feel more confident in facing professional challenges after participating in this program. My advice to other students is not to hesitate to seize this opportunity, as the benefits gained are immense, both academically and personally.

The documentation of activities during this internship includes various photos and videos of the events mentioned. This documentation not only serves as evidence of my participation but also as a valuable keepsake capturing my four-month journey at UPTD. Taman Budaya.

Overall, the MBKM program was an incredibly meaningful experience in my life. I extend my gratitude to UPTD. Taman Budaya, Udayana University, and everyone who provided guidance and support throughout the program. I hope this experience inspires other students to take advantage of the MBKM opportunities for self-development and community contributions.
