Learning Data Analyst & AI with MariBelajar

The term MBKM or Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka is now well-known. This government-initiated program focuses on providing students with more opportunities to explore topics outside the scope of their study programs. It has been running successfully, catering to students with high curiosity. One of the programs under MBKM is Independent Study, which focuses on teaching students. In this program, students can attend classes on topics of their interest through online learning. Among the various classes available, I chose to participate in the Data Analyst & AI class organized by PT. MariBelajar Indonesia Cerdas.

Maribelajar is a learning community founded on December 30, 2013, and has educated teachers and students in Indonesia annually. With over eight years of experience and more than 10,000 educators and students educated, Maribelajar transformed into PT. Maribelajar Indonesia Cerdas on November 24, 2021. This company is under the MIC Enterprise holding company along with its sister company, Mega Innova Cipta. The headquarters is located in Denpasar, a city known for its cultural assimilation on the world-renowned island of Bali.

During the 4 months I spent with mentors and mentees at MariBelajar, especially in the Data Analyst & AI learning track, I gained various new experiences outside my field of study at university. While participating in this program, I gained many valuable and beneficial experiences. In the Data Analyst class with Python, I learned about coding and formulas to calculate basic statistics such as mode, mean, and median. This teaching helped me understand the application of data in business decisions. Additionally, the capstone project I worked on, titled "Sentiment Analysis of the Independent Study Program," gave me the opportunity to collect data, process it into a dataset for machine learning, and visualize data with Power BI. This experience greatly enhanced my technical skills in operating Power BI for better data visualization and coding with Python for large-scale data processing.

I also completed the final exams for the Data Visualization with Power BI and Data Analyst with Python classes, which deepened my understanding of these topics. One of the greatest benefits of this program was the international certifications I received from Microsoft, such as Azure Data Fundamental and AI Fundamentals, which demonstrate my mastery of the taught material.

My skills in data analysis and artificial intelligence (AI) developed rapidly during this program. I also learned to work in teams, communicate effectively, and solve problems collaboratively through the capstone project. This program not only developed my technical competencies but also enhanced my creative thinking, market-centered thinking, and technical skills, preparing me to play the role of an AI Engineer in the future. This program truly provided me with a strong foundation for a successful career in data analysis and artificial intelligence. I highly recommend participating in the activities provided by MBKM. Not only are these opportunities exclusive and limited, but they also offer a broad and useful range of experiences for personal development and future career paths.
